i've never understood people's desire to make stuff up about this.

but i guess its the inevitable outcome of turning a real humanitarian tragedy into a social media engagement tool

How do we know, they aren’t just real big Benjamin Judah heads?…

Yeah, this is photoshopped.

Remember

Biden says these are the good guys so we must listen to him bc he is good. Trump is bad. He is good. Trump is bad. He is good. Trump is bad

Remember, for the rest of us here whose brains are actually capable of critical thinking and nuance:
Yes, Biden is obviously doing bad on countering Israel. Let’s not make excuses there.

That does not magically make Trump (who tried to violently overthrow your government btw) a better option. It most certainly doesn’t warrant wasting your vote on a third party or abstaining.

In case anyone needs a refresher, look back at who he the supposedly ‘anti-war’ Trump appointed and surrounded himself with.
The Trump WH was a great victory for the neocons, even the most extreme.
Trump appointed John Bolton as his national security adviser. The guy known for being overly radical even by neocon standards. John Bolton openly calls for bombing Iran to stop their nuclear program.

As a citizen in an especially important presidential election, it is crucial to do a proper assessment of both sides. Third parties are irrelevant grifters.
In this case, what have the 2 candidates done? What kind of people do they appoint in key positions and who are their close advisers? Who are their closest allies outside of the WH?

Next is the policy agenda. Research both parties policy platforms, both official and semi-official like the Trump Project 2025 plan.
I highly suggest checking the Project 2025 plan.

If you actually take the time to do a bit of research and apply critical thinking, the undisputable conclusion is that one party is less in line with your views than the other.
The lesser of two evils principle.
So what does not voting or third party voting do? It is refusal to face reality and use critical thinking. In small part thanks to these kind of people, the lesser evil might come out on top.

You’re probably never gonna get a magic election where you feel genuinely excited about voting for one side or the other. In reality, “the lesser evil” principle is generally what you’re stuck with.
Third party presidential candidates are all grifters who are well aware they have zero chance at winning or doing anything meaningful. The likes of RFK Jr and other 3rd party presidential candidates are just narcissists collecting money for a presidential campaign they have zero chance of winning. Unfortunately some of that money is from regular people they’ve conned into giving their hard earned money to a grifter's self-marketing campaign.

I don't know why you bother explaining all of this.

You're trying to reason with someone who thinks Biden is leading the Knesset, who's making fun of the women's march at the beginning of Trump's term, and who's has completely ignored everything about Trump's disdain for Muslims.

Perfectly fine people, netanyaho and KHAMas are the problem

Yes, they are.

They have emboldened the extreme sides of their nations by looking away or even protecting those who aim to harm Israelis or Palestinians, and by shutting down those who think that a solution where both sides compromise is possible.

I see a lot of tensions brewing amongst voters for the U.S. elections and the liberals/Democrats all up in their feels that people don't want to vote for their genocidal and warmonger incumbents. And yes, for some, it was an epiphany because for the first time, this war and genocide on Palestinians has taken the mask off of these liberals that tout they are progressives and for the free world, and what American foreign policy is really about, which also directly impacts their domestic policy.

These politicians and elite don't give a *beep* about any of us. They're all criminals too and are sociopaths that just care about satisfying the ruling elites of the world while we are compromised to appease to these cowards. So, why are ya'll so mad that some are not drinking the Kool Aid?

My previous reply was removed for being overly insulting towards DLF apparently.

So here's the sanitized version:
I did say "for the rest of us here whose brains are actually capable of critical thinking and nuance", which specifically excludes DLF DLF
The point is that for various reasons, DLF DLF is fundamentally incapable of holding a reasonable adult discussion. Detailing those reasons was probably why my post got removed and possibly reported.
I can't think of anyone similar to DLF throughout my time on NT, and I've been in a lot of discussions. Apologies if that is considered an insult but there's simply no other way of putting it.

I’m embarrassed to say I never really followed the news pre-October 7. I was semi aware of things but mostly went to cnn.com couple times a day and glanced at it.

Since October 7 I felt sick seeing the images and about a week into the conflict I started watching YouTube videos documentaries and speeches/debates on the topic almost as a way to cope with the sadness.

It's not about "drinking the koolaid."
No one with a bit of sense goes to vote because they like the presidential candidate/party. The ones drinking the koolaid are the people voting blindly.

There's a concept called nuance. It is an undisputable fact that whatever views someone may have, one of the two will be more disagreeable than the other.
People who abstain voting or vote third party aren't doing anyone a favor. They're merely closing their eyes and ears. If that results in the worst option winning, those people are partly to blame.
Of course the party is primarily at fault for failing to capture voters, but abstainers and third party voters choose to be either ignorant or cowards and they deserve a small part of the blame as well (if they're in a state where those margins matter). Especially if those abstainers and third party voters care about the Palestinians and/or Ukraine.

It's a very simple process to just do some research.
In this case, what have the 2 candidates done? What kind of people do they appoint in key positions and who are their close advisers? Who are their closest allies outside of the WH?

That's all it takes. A critical analysis of the above, and a reasonable person will conclude one of the 2 options is further opposite of their views than the other.
Is "the lesser of 2 evils" a good motivator? Absolutely not. No one's gonna argue that.

My country has numerous parties in a parliamentary system. Guess what, I don't like any of the parties or their candidates.
I assess whichever comes closest to my views and vote, instead of just closing myself off from reality because oh boohoo, it doesn't feel good to vote for x or y.

Very well said.

Mask off is the right pHrase

“Ohhhh women’s rights!! Oh those poor muuuuuuzzzzzlems in Iran whose leaders are oppresors!!!” Man shut up you white Karen looking liberal *****

There was a point in time when you couldn’t criticize Biden being a war monger without liberals telling you Gaza wasn’t going to be an issue with voters.

But, here is the difference though...

What's different this time is some of us have been seeing a 24/7 live streamed genocide funded and aided by the U.S. leader in charge.

I am talking about the most inhumane and unimaginable horrors with killings of human beings where we are seeing intestines out of babies bodies and headless and eviscerated people.

We are talking about a party whose leaders and political party are propping, funding and aiding these abominable horrors we are seeing live and with our own eyes 24/7 for 7 months straight.

The Palestinians are then showing us, hey look, right here, U.S.made bomb, look at the ID and manufacturers, this is what's killing us with your tax money.

We didn't see or even get this under Trump.

So if in their values that doesn't fly with them, anymore, why should be forced to vote for the genocidal warmonger candidate ?
