Schoen is done with Daniel but stuck with him for one more year cause he couldn’t move up for his replacement. The QB class next year is EXPECTED to be pretty bad so people are saying they think John would rather trade for a Kirk type QB than draft. They’re also saying Giants are moving on from Daniel because he’s not worth 80+ over the last two years with his significant injury history. Playing decent could help his trade value and would save a little value but there’s not a lot of interest in him.
