Working in freight brokerage is a great way to get into the industry. That said, it's gonna be a headache and a grind cause you're gonna piss your customers off when the actual asset based carriers you broker the loads to, fail to pick-up, deliver, etc, and because you're just a middle man, you really can't fix anything.

Brokers like these (Coyote, CHR, ATG, etc.) are notoriously cheap when it comes to base compensation, but if you can land a whale of a customer, you can def make money.

These companies usually have a fun young culture with a lot of fresh out of college kids, so it's a great way to meet people and work in a fast paced environment.

do you have a linkedin? trying doing a search for the company through there and see if you have any connections through there. for example, your best friend's sister's boyfriend might work there and you can talk to them about the company. i'm assuming you searched through glassdoor and want to talk to a person directly about the company.
